The School Guide is good for brushing up on the program, classes, clubs, school strengths, etc, — whereas the Interview Guide explains their typical interview, with questions other candidates have been asked. I was surprised that I found some new info when I had thought I had the Wharton website covered end-to-end. Review from a Wharton applicant. I'm a recent graduate of Wharton's MBA program and remain active in the admissions process serving as an alumni interviewer to evaluate applicants. I can't tell you how important it is for applicants to show genuine enthusiasm for Wharton and I think the Clear Admit School Guide for Wharton captures many of the important details, as well as the spirit of the school. During the application process, I was successful partially because I learned as much as possible about each program before applying. Learning so much about every school was difficult - it required campus visits, web searches, and contact with current students.

While no publication could ever completely replace those experiences, the Clear Admit guide comes awfully close. Comments from a current HBS student. The author chose a very unique topic — his love of languages — and his passion is crystal clear in his writing. In the introduction, the author uses definitions to hook us right from the get-go. At the end, he adds a little humor to an otherwise esoteric topic, and he does a nice job tying the conclusion back to the intro about being at the movies with his friend.

We walk away a little more educated and with a newfound respect for the complexities of languages. Branding, which permeates the life of a teenager, is nowhere more obvious than within these volumes. What I like about Penn is the practical, learn-by-doing approach promoted by founder Ben Franklin, having initially applied it in my self study of liquid containers and ads. I look forward to classes like MGMT, which seem daunting at first — a team of 18 year olds organizing an entire community event sans adult directives?! MGMT is just one class of many at Wharton that develops teamwork and leadership skills in knowledgeable students, skills necessary for future business leaders.

Penn also offers me, through research opportunities like CURF and the Weiss Tech House, the chance to explore the full interdisciplinary implications of my interest in typefaces, Serif and Sans Serif, or the impact of ad design on buying decisions and branding. This environment at Penn, that emphasizes real world applications and interaction among peers, while promoting individual responsibility and initiative, fits my learning approach.

At Penn, I hope to explore beyond my initial aesthetic interest, beyond what marketing encompasses, to other realms of business and other areas of study.
